Persons with developmental disabilities and their parents or guardians will want to set aside Saturday, Aug. 29, between 9 a.m. and noon for a free Emergency Preparedness Fair in the Shasta College gym.
Learn to recognize an emergency, participate in an evacuation center, see a fire truck or ambulance or police vehicle, learn how to stop, drop and roll and watch performances by Theatre in the Now, said Kay Cullis, public information officer for the Far Northern Regional Center.
The Emergency Preparedness Fair is sponsored by ILS Transition, Inc., in cooperation with various community agencies.
Attendees can tour various booths and learn how to be better prepared for any emergency, Cullis said.
