The West Valley boys and girls soccer teams are running and kicking their way to the play-offs.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, the Eagle soccer teams played their second game against Lassen High School. Both games resulted in a 0-0 tie.

To determine where they would fit into the up coming playoffs, penalty shots were taken for both teams. For the West Valley girls, in the first round, goalie Hannah Emmen caught two of the five shots kicked. The girls that made their shots, were DaNae Hodges and Ashley Moebes. This took the team into sudden death Penalty Kicks. Freshman Taylor Moebes scored the winning shot on goal.

At the other end of the park, the West Valley boys team, won their shoot out 3-2.

Goals were made by Ray Close, Jake Elledge and Eric Nieves.

Goalie Joel Dumore, had two penalty kick saves, two goals scored on him and one kick that went high over the bar. The boys league record is 4-3-1.
