Anderson woman arrested after collision in APD parking lot

Kathy Daniels, 45, of Anderson, was arrested after 2 a.m. Saturday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she drove her Toyota Prius into an unmarked police car in the parking lot of the Anderson Police Department, APD Chief Dale Webb said.

Daniels was later arrested near the corner of East and Mill Streets, and the APD recommended the additional charge of hit and run on top of the DUI to the District Attorney's office, Webb said.

"She lives near here, so she probably just took a wrong turn somewhere," Webb said.

The unmarked police car suffered minor damage, requiring the replacement of the front bumper facia, costing approximately $800, Webb said.
