Anderson Parks Dept. gets $600 grant from Scripps

Anderson Valley Post general manager Bill Dawson secured a $600 grant for the Anderson Department of Parks and Recreation on Jan. 30.

The award from the Scripps Howard Foundation Volunteer Grant Program would be used to purchase a wireless microphone remote control headset system and accessories to be used for public announcements at outdoor community events.

Under the same program, Dawson volunteered at the Cottonwood Community Library in 2007 and secured a $955 grant to purchase a new copier for the library.
