The West Valley Eagles are at it again. On Feb. 5, both the boys and girls teams went to Corning to play in some crazy weather conditions in search of another win, and both teams came away with success.
The Lady Eagles beat Corning 3-1.
Scorers from West Valley were Tigger McNeeley, Holly Dethero and Jessie McPhetridge. In their game earlier in the week against Yreka the girls came home with a victory 3-1. Goals were scored by Taylor McNeeley, JR Mueller and Cassie DeBonis.
The boys are also heading in the direction of the playoffs.
On Feb. 3, they beat the Yreka Miners 4-1 with three goals following the first by "Joey Jake," Jake Elledge and another scored by Ray Close. On Thursday, Feb. 5, the boys traveled to Corning and tied their game 2-2. The players that scored were Alex Alverez and Ray Close. With the official score being 2-2, the teams went to penalty kicks. West Valley won in PK's 7-6. This will help decide where they will be seeded in the playoffs.
Where the teams are seeded for the playoffs and who they will play will be determined in two weeks.
