A big "Thank you" to the 21 volunteers who showed up for the Happy Valley Pride Day cleanup of the roadsides.
Our new Shasta County Supervisor, Leonard Moty, came and helped. He is very impressed with our community and complimented us on our friendliness and how we care for our community.
We had a few new people come and, of course, our faithful ones who always come.
I especially want to thank Harry Weldin, who picked up my area of the road.
God bless you, Harry.
A lot of trash was picked up. However, our streets still need your help. Could you take a few moments to go to the front of your property and pick up the trash that may have been missed or thrown out since our pickup day? Our next clean-up day won't be until April 18.
Happy Valley Pride Day offers a $600 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone dumping in Happy Valley. It is important to get as much information as possible such as a description of the people, vehicle and license plate, then call the District Attorney's office at 866-618-7274. The county also offers an award for the arrest and conviction of anyone dumping in the county.
Many of you called me complaining about Waste Management trash blowing out of their trucks.
Maybe, if enough of us call to complain, they will do something about it. Their number is 221-4784.
Happy Valley Farm Trail will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Happy Valley Community Center, 5400 Happy Valley Road.
We will talk about the drought. Everyone is invited. You do not have to be a Farm Trail member to attend.
Remember, on Friday, Feb. 20, the Bureau of Reclamation will come out with the percentages for M and I and Agriculture users. I am happy to see the recent rain, but keep praying for it because we need a whole lot more of it. Thank you, Lord, for the rain you have sent so far.
On Wednesday, March 4, the Clear Creek Community Service District will hold a 7 p.m. public meeting at the Happy Valley Primary School regarding the drought, so mark your calendar and plan to attend.
I will be attending the Small Farm Conference in Sacramento at the end of this month. I will be sharing with you any information that will help us be better farmers. Don't forget about the lending library at the water district office. Do you have any farming books you would like to donate?
God bless your week! Smile and pray for our country and its leaders.
