Debbie Holloman was born in Pittsburg California. Shortly after, she moved with her parents to Bonita Springs, Fla, where the family lived for many years.
While in high school, Holloman's family moved to South Lake Tahoe where she attended South Lake Tahoe High School.
In 1976, Holloman moved to Shasta County with her mother and stepfather to be together as a family. She began working at Anderson Bowl in Anderson in 1993 and has been there for the past 16 years. Holloman is the night manager and works 40 hours a week doing many different tasks.
Some of the things Holloman does include taking care of the different bowling leagues when they come in at night, working at the counter, cooking, birthday parties, minor mechanical work in the back and daily paper work.
Holloman's favorite part of the job is being able to work with the people that come in. She plans on working at Anderson Bowl as long as she can. Holloman can't even imagine being away from a job that she loves.
On her shift there are two other employees that do different jobs around the bowling alley, including her sister Diana.
Anderson Bowl has bowling leagues every night besides Saturday, and Youth Leagues that bowl on Saturday mornings. Holloman bowls on in the "Only the Shadow Knows," league one night a week and has been doing this for the past 10 years.
"The sport of bowling has come a long way. I can remember when we had to bowl on wooden lanes in the 1980s. We are now bowling on synthetic lanes. Scoring was also done by hand, and is now kept by electronics," said Holloman.
Holloman enjoys living in Anderson because of the rural community, being able to know her neighbors and being able to get to know people in the community.
