Carleton Eslie Brooks Jr.
Carl Brooks, 81 resident of Happy Valley passed away February 18, 2009 in Redding, CA. Carl was born October 7, 1927 in Fairfield Center, Maine to Carleton and Eva Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Jeanne and their five children Brenda, Debra, Jody, Mark and Cary. His seven grandchildren Melissa, Wilson, Roman, Robbie, Michael, Stephen and John as well as his great grandchildren Alex and Madelyn, also survive him. Carl loved his family and friends and indeed never met a stranger.
Carl was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help. In his spare time Carl enjoyed working with his hands whether it be on his antique cars or one of his many building projects.
Visitation will be on February 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McDonald's Funeral Chapel in Redding. The family will hold a celebration of his life on February 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald's Chapel in Redding.
Donations may be made in Carls' name to the American Legion Post 746 (Cottonwood, CA) The family greatly appreciates the love and support they have received.
Phyllis Yniguez
Phyllis Yniguez, age 88, passed away in Anderson, CA on February 17, 2009.
A rosary will be held on February 23, 2009 at 7 p.m. and a mass will be held on February 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Anderson, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Refugio Yniguez and her daughter Elaine Hockert.
She was born in Hoehne, CO on June 26, 1920. She moved from Martinez, CA to Cottonwood in 1978, where she lived until her death.
She loved and was devoted to her family.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Scott Hockert and wife Beckie of Everett, WA, Tazina Otis and husband James of Jones Valley; son-in-law Joe Hockert and wife Sondra of Darby, MT; great grandchildren Tamara Baker and husband Jeremy of Marysville, WA; Evan Otis and Zachary Otis of Jones Valley; Ryne Hockert and Larisa Hockert of Everett, WA; and one great great granddaughter Brooke Sierra Baker.
She will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Wallace "Willy" Earl Wilson, 81, of Cottonwood died Wednesday at Northern California Rehabilitation Hospital in Redding. Arrangements are pending at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding (222-1587).
