Corning edged Anderson for the varsity Northern Athletic League Championships, which were held at Lassen High School on Saturday, February 14th. With the threat of a severe snow storm, one varsity Anderson wrestler was not able to make the trip to Susanville wrestling coach Don Williams said.

The final score ended up Corning 187 and Anderson 182.

"Even one more win could have changed the results and given Anderson the title," Williams said.

Anderson advanced nine wrestlers to the championship finals, and came away with four champions. Corning also had 4 champions.

Winning "All League" honors and a championship for the Cubs were Jerry Bjerklund (127), Marcus Zachary (147), Nick Ortiz (162), and Tyler Davis (Hwt). Finishing 2nd were Steven Schepps (105), Chris Quinonez (121), Dylan Frank (132), Jon Creech (173), and Colt Little (191).
