The Casa Ramos Mexican restaurant in Anderson has changed names and leadership, as husband and wife team Carlos Cuevas and Leticia Ramos have split paths with Marco Ramos, previously the majority stakeholder of the restaurant at 2830 Childress Dr. in Anderson.
Casa Ramos was closed Sunday at 9 p.m. and was opened as La Casa Cuevas Monday at 11 a.m.
Marco Ramos, who owned 60 percent of the restaurant, wanted to close the restaurant due to a slumping economy as the building’s lease was expiring, according to Leticia Ramos.
“The employee were all sad because they were not going to have a job anymore,” Leticia Ramos said. “The restaurant is good. Why close? We need the work.”
The restaurant slimmed its workstaff down to ten employees including the two owners before the change-over, she said.
“We are open the same hours with the same cooking, but better prices,” Carlos Cuevas said.
Marco Ramos was not immediately available for a statement.
