New South County rep. for Shasta College appointed

The Shasta College governing board appointed a new provisional board member to represent parts of Cottonwood and Anderson.

Duane K. Miller took office on Feb. 18 to govern Trustee Area B. He will serve until the November 2009 election.

Miller is an advocate for community colleges, having earned his Associate in Arts Degree from Yuba College and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from CSU Chico.

The board is responsible for the performance of the Shasta College Main Campus, the Tehama Campus, the Trinity Campus, and the Intermountain Campus, which serve 10,500 students. The Board of Trustees’ regular meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month.
