Pit bull attacks deputy

GREGORY

GREGORY

As sheriff's deputies arrived to serve a felony warrant to Jason Gregory at 20623 Lassen View Lane Feb. 21 at 8:21 a.m., Gregory released a pit bull terrier on deputies when he opened the door of his residence.

The dog charged Deputy Colby Darrah, who subdued the dog with a taser.

Releasing the dog on the deputies appeared to be deliberate, according to a report from the Shasta County Sheriff's Department. Gregory was charged with assault with a deadly weapon as well as obstructing an officer.
