Parenting, safety classes at Mercy Medical Center

If you are a first time mom-to-be, a parent of three or you just want to make sure your child's car seat is installed properly, Mercy Medical Center Redding is offering classes to provide the community with the knowledge they are looking for free of charge.

The Mercy Maternity Clinic is offering classes in: Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, Infant and Toddler Safety, C-Section Information, Car Seat Safety and a series titled, "Let's Talk Parenting". All classes are taught by experienced Registered Nurses, Lactation Consultants or California State Certified Teachers. "The skills my team possesses are just amazing," said Mercy Maternity Clinic Manager Kim Hawkins, "I want our community to be able to obtain the knowledge they need. Knowledge is the foundation of good parenting. It is better to go into childbirth or childcare prepared than to just be afraid or uncertain," said Hawkins.

If you would like more information on the classes Mercy offers visit redding.mercy.org or call (530) 24-MERCY to register. Fathers, partners, grandparents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to attend all classes.
