Shots fired near Volonte Park, no injuries reported

Anderson Police responded to reports of shots fired in the Volonte Park area Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 p.m. Subsequent shots were fired, but the shooter was not located.

Kirvin added that the APD patrolled the area and surrounding neighborhoods until about 1 a.m. and returned to the area in the morning without finding any evidence of the shooting. A CHP helicopter with thermal imaging camera was also used in the search.

"Someone was probably just firing rounds from their residence," APD Captain Kirvin said.

No injuries were reported in what Kirvin summarized as an indiscriminate shooting.

There were three distinct shots about a minute or so apart. I think the APD Capt. is correct. Just someone shooting in the air. Probably some young whipper snappers with access to papy's muzzle loader. Hey pops, lock up yer guns or I'll skin yer hide!

Arrrghhh!
