The Eagles varsity boys basketball team remains undefeated in their first three league games.
The run started against Central Valley Jan. 16, with a 55-45 victory.
The Eagles beat the Anderson Cubs on Tuesday, 58-43, and continued their streak on Friday with a 52-41 win against Lassen.
While the West Valley and Anderson girls' teams met for the first time this year last Tuesday, the W.V. boys beat the Cubs for the third time this season, although the 15-point win was the widest margin yet.
"We pressed them and forced a lot of turnovers," Eagles coach Josh Schwerdt said. "Ben Bradshaw played a big part of our press."
The team improved offensively as well.
"We've had trouble scoring from the paint in the last few games," Schwerdt said. "We finally converted on those this game."
Four Eagles players reached double-digits in point totals: Donny Anondson led with 16, Trevor Tufts and Justin Naber had 12, and Tyler Stevenson had 10.
Both AUHS district teams will get a chance at payback when they meet Feb. 10.
