NEW ADDITION: Co-owners Gary DeRose and Debbie Parret prepare to open a new room at Marigold Antique and Collectibles Mall.

Marigold Antique and Collectibles Mall keeps growing. The Anderson antique mall annexed an adjacent storefront at the Gateway Center in October 2008 when the Mercado Latino moved out, then another opportunity presented itself in June 2009.

The addition of an adjacent storefront adds 1,400-square feet to the mall for a total of 5,400-square feet, co-owner Debbie Parret said. The 2008 annexation filled-out with merchandise in only two weeks and Parret hopes that the latest addition goes as successfully.

"It's one of those 'build it and they will come' kind of things," Parret said.

Of eleven available spaces, six were already rented out to dealers before the addition opened, she said. Independent dealers pay 10 percent of their sales to the antique mall, Parret said.

The mall is located at 2684 Gateway Dr. in Anderson.
