Parents and children were treated to a special visitor at a recent Storytime at the Cottonwood Community Library.
In keeping with the theme of "Fun in the Sun with Animals," last week's guest was Sundancer, a rescued vulture with a five-foot wingspan.
Robin and Patty from the Shasta Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation in Anderson spoke to library patrons about the bird and the long process that went into his rehabilitation.
The bird was very well-behaved and proudly showed off his incredible size to the eager crowd of 50 children, most of whom had never seen a vulture up close.
Each week this summer, the Cottonwood Community Library will feature a different animal as its visitor.
Storytimes are each Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the library, which is located at 3427 Main St.
