Steven Travares slides safely under the tag to score Anderson Little
League 9-10 year old all-star’s only run in a loss against Shasta Dam last week.
Anderson's Little League All-Star team of 9 and 10 year olds battled Shasta Dam's All-Star Team July 7. Shasta Dam's hard hitting offense met with Anderson coming off a win last week. The Anderson team was composed of players from five Anderson teams.
"We felt good coming in, we were looking to play hard and be consistent in plays," Anderson Coach Matt White said, adding he was confident with his returning players and pitcher Steven Travares.
Nonetheless, Shasta Dam beat Anderson soundly, 11-1.
Despite Anderson's loss, pitcher Travares said, "I have been working on my follow through to get my ball down and will keep working for next week."
Along with Travares' struggles at the mound he also came away with the only run for the team in the fourth inning.
Anderson will take on West Redding next week.
