Inhumane act draws large reward for info

Ray John, chief executive officer for Haven Humane Society, is offering a $4,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for setting an adult male Siamese cat on fire at Twin Towers and Posey Lane in Redding around 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 8.

The incident also started a brush fire in the area.

"I have donations of $4,500 already and it should be up to $5,000 by Monday," John said Saturday while attending a community event at the Cascade Theatre in Redding.

"The scumbags who did this need to be locked up where they won't be a menace to society," John said.

Call Haven Humane at 243-4030 or call Sheriff's investigators at 241-1653.
