A food drive to benefit many Shasta County food banks including Anderson-Cottonwood Christian Assistance (ACCA) is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 15, at a variety of locations.
In Anderson, the drive would be held in the parking lots of both Walmart, 5000 Rhonda Rd., and Safeway, 2601 Balls Ferry Rd.
In Cottonwood, the drive would be held at Holiday Market, 20635 Gas Point Rd.
The items that food banks want most, according to drive sponsor Shasta Food Group, are whole grain cereals, canned meat, canned (100 percent) juices, low salt canned or dry soups, beans and chili, canned spaghetti sauce, low salt canned vegetables, canned fruits in light syrup, peanut butter, and brown rice and pasta.
