Bob Lee of Happy Valley has been working in the moving industry for the past 16 years, 11 with Allied Van Lines and five with North American Van Lines. During Lee's time spent with North American Van Lines, he was an owner-operator on one of the trucks for four of the five years.. While working for North American Van Lines, Lee was listed in the top 20 drivers out of 2,000 for good service, and keeping a good record.
In the past year, Lee has opened his own moving company called Lee's Moving Service, located in Happy Valley. He currently has one truck and one employee other than himself. Lee does local and long-distance hauling. He takes pride in what he does and likes to take the extra step to make his customers happy. Lee enjoys having had repeat customers over the years, having moved some families eight to ten times.
One of the things Lee enjoys about his job is that no two moving jobs are alike. They may be in the same city, but houses and customers are all different.
Most of Lee's business is return customers and by word of mouth. Since he has opened his company in July 2008, business is finally starting to pick up after doing some advertising.
In the future, Lee would like to see his company grow and someday be able to give it to his boys to run when they get older. He would also like to eventually pick up a nationally carried company.
When not working, Lee enjoys taking his boys out to ride and race their dirt bikes. When the boys are racing, they travel within a 100-mile radius of Anderson. He also enjoys spending time with his family enjoying different activities.
Lee attended Hayfork High School and has been married to his wife Dawn for eight years.
Together they have two children. Tyler 11 and Bobby 7.
