Council awards bid to demolish old City Grill

The burned-out hulk of City Grill Steak House could be nothing but rubble later this week.

Anderson's City Council awarded a bid of $19,738 to Leckey Land Clearing of Redding to raze and pave over the site, said Jeff Kiser, the city's public works director.

Several months ago, the city purchased the old City Grill property for $300,000, Acting City Manager Dana Shigley said.

The city hopes to build a new police station there.
