Ten public block parties are scheduled throughout various businesses and residences in Anderson on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6-9 p.m. for Anderson Police Department's annual National Night Out. Block parties compete for prizes for the best party as judged by city council members and APD visiting each party.
In previous years, block parties involved themes, costumes and cookouts.
The locations of Tuesday's block parties are as follows:

Anderson Fire Protection District, 1925 Howard St.
Crossroads Bible Fellowship, 2300 Ferry St.
Volonte Park, on Bruce St.
T.J.'s Drive In, 2940 West Center St.
Regency Place Senior Apartments, 2501 Red Bud Ln
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4075 Riverside Ave.
Gaia Hotel Anderson, 4125 Riverside Pl.
Manzanita Apartments, 1526 Spruce Circle

Let's all try to make it to the fire department one to show majority solidarity with the firemen who defend our town...against fires...and against hateful people.too bad this event gets so limited publicity...and the attendance shows it. Get it out on the radio and tv stations.
