Haven asks for donations of dog food

Since November, Haven Humane Society has distributed one ton of dog and cat food each month to seniors and needy pet owners in Shasta County.

All the food has been given free to allow pet owners to keep their pets in this tough economic time, said Dr. Ray John, chief executive officer for the animal shelter.

After giving away seven tons of food, Haven Humane Society has completely run out of food and no longer has any to give away.

Once again, Haven is appealing to the community to help out with donations of pet food for our seniors and needy friends.

If you can donate, please bring your gifts of dog or cat food to the shelter located at 7449 Eastside Road in Anderson during regular business hours, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
