A 24-year-old Anderson man was arrested March 1 after he met a 15-year-old girl on the Internet and traveled to the Sacramento area to allegedly have sex with her, police said.
William Cody Ambord of Anderson was arrested on suspicion of contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, Rocklin and Sacramento police said.
He is being held in Sacramento County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Rocklin police said they received information Friday that the 15-year-old girl was having Internet conversations with Ambord, who had traveled to a Sacramento hotel.
Police said that it was also learned on Sunday that he made arrangements to bring the girl to the hotel to have sex.
Sacramento police also received the same information at about the same time, and officers from both departments shared details, leading to Ambord's arrest.
