Frederick T. Peairs, 43, of Redding, was driving a motorcycle on Hartnell Avenue when he was struck from behind by a dark green Jeep Cherokee on Redding on Feb. 28.
Pearirs was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered moderate to severe injuries, according to a Redding police report. The Jeep Cherokee fled the scene. Following the hit-and-run, the Redding Police Department asked local media outlets for assistance in finding the suspect.
"One of our Anderson citizens heard it on the radio and called it in," APD Sgt. Bryan Van Dyke said.
APD officers converged on the suspect at the intersection of Deschutes Road and Arby Street in Anderson. The driver, Tamara Kerrie Clark, 29, of Fairfield, acknowledged she had been in a collision, but said she had not reported the incident to police.
The vehicle showed evidence of a recent collision, according to RPD.Peairs was listed in fair condition Monday at 11:41 a.m.
