Enterprise Zone seminar scheduled in Anderson

A special Business Resource Seminar will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. March 19 at the City Hall Community Center, 1887 Howard St., in Anderson.

The free seminar will include information on hiring and employee training, preparing a business plan, financing, regulatory and compliance needs, location, expansion and retention needs.

Additionally, advice will be included about the benefits of location within an Enterprise Zone and how to apply for tax credits.

"There will be break-out sessions to highlight your specific business needs," said Irish Robertson, executive director of the Anderson Chamber of Commerce, the event's sponsor.

Presentations will be made by the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta County and ShastaBiz, a coalition of city, state and county agencies working with Shasta College, the Shasta Builders' Exchange, Smart Business Resource Center, Superior California Economic Development and the Cascade Small Business Development Center.

The free seminar includes a luncheon that will be served. Seating is limited, so reservations are a must, Robertson said. To reserve a spot, call the Anderson Chamber office at 365-8095.
