Century ride in Anderson in May

Registration forms are now available for the 5th annual Anderson River Park Century bicycle ride, which will be held on Saturday, May 16.

Ride distances include a 25-mile, 40-mile, 60-mile and 100-mile routes. Start times are staggered beginning at 7 a.m.

The Enterprise and Anderson Lions Clubs, with the assistance of the City of Anderson Parks and Recreation personnel, conduct the fundraising bicycle ride by working in registration, feeding, route safety, rest stops and more.

Donations from local businesses make the ride possible. Any profits return to Lions clubs in the Redding, Anderson, Happy Valley and Cottonwood communities.

In 2008, riders came from Shasta County, the San Francisco Bay area, Sacramento and Oregon.

Registration can be completed online at www.centurybikeride.com. Forms can also be picked up at area bike shops.

For information, call ride director Mike Ferrier at 530.941.9977.
