Anderson area Girl Scouts are hosting a Drive-Thru Cookie Station at the Safeway store in Anderson from 10 a.m.-4 .m. on Saturday, March 7.
The girls are promoting the "Gift of Caring" which makes it possible to send Girl Scout cookies to our military troops through "Families Honoring Our Troops."
All of the South Shasta troops are participating and the girls will be dressed as cookies, said Jane Ziad of Chico, development and communications director for Girl Scouts of Northern California's Sierra Cascade Area.
The Girl Scout cookie sales, which started Feb. 18 and ends March 22, allows troops to earn funds to accomplish their goals. The girls use important skills such as planning, decision-making and entrepreneurship and work together as a team to accomplish a common goal, Ziad explained.
"When you buy cookies from local Girl Scouts this year, remember that you're saying hello to tomorrow's business leaders," she said.
