North state veterans to hold 1940s-style Boondocker Ball in Redding March 21

The Northern California Veterans Museum & Heritage Center is hosting a 1940s-style USO dinner and dance fundraiser, the 2009 Boondocker Ball, on Saturday, March 21, at the Veterans memorial Building, 1605 Yuba St., Redding.

A no-host social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.

Entertainment will include music by the Straight Ahead Big Band, a silent auction and prize drawings, along with a celebrity impersonator's tribute to Bob Hope.

Preferred seating is $55 each while regular seats go for $35 each. A Boondocker table reservation is also available for $400 and includes preferred seating for up to eight people with special recognition on the museum's Web site.

Proceeds will go towards the museum's future building, education programs and the preservation and restoration of artifacts from 1776 to the present.

The organization is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
