Police search for stabbing suspect of Anderson man

Redding police were searching Sunday, March 8, for a man suspected of stabbing an Anderson man earlier that same morning at a Redding restaurant.

Efren Alfaro, 39, of Anderson was stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation involving several people at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The stabbing took place at El Delicioso Restaurant, 1647 Hartnell Ave., said Cpl. Bill Schueller of the Redding Police Department.

After stabbing Alfaro with a knife, the man left in a dark-colored, newer-model Scion sport utility vehicle, said Cpl. Bart Langley. A description of the suspect was not available.

Alfaro was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, Schueller said. His injuries didn't appear to be life threatening. Redding police requested that anyone with information concerning the case should call 225-4214.
