South County Profile: Jenifer Meda

Jenifer Meda and her family moved to Shasta County in 1999 to move to an area that had better schools for the kids and a better lifestyle. Meda worked for many different print shops in the area before she purchased Anderson Printing, which was formerly North Cal Printing nine months ago.

For Meda, the first time she walked into a print shop, she fell in love with the smell of the printing ink and being able to be creative while manufacturing different products such as forms, brochures, posters, tickets, business cards and similar items. Anderson Printing is not just a print shop. Meda helps her customers with making copies of family trees, full color copies of pictures and other unique items.

Meda's advertising is mostly by word of mouth and repeat customers, but she also enjoys going out into the comunity and meeting people and going to Greeters to talk with new merchants.

The favorite part of her job is taking care of orders successfully and being able to keep her customers happy with the printing that she does for them. Meda has been in the printing business for the past 10 years.

"Printing has always been my first love, since the first time I walked into a print shop, I loved the smell of the ink and the adrenaline of getting things done in a timely manner, I love it." stated Meda. "There are lots of easy projects and hard projects. You need to always make sure that you proof your work before you print it. The work doesn't automatically come corrected."

Meda visualizes the future of Anderson Printing as a bustling little print shop that meets the needs of the businesses in Anderson and outlying areas with anything they need printed.

To be a printer, you really need to have a passion for the job. It is so much fun that it is more like a hobby, Meda said.

Meda attended Skyline High School in Oakland and graduated in 1979. She then continued on to Laney College in Oakland to receive her certificate in graphic communications and printing.

Meda has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 22 years. They have three children, Alison, Stephanie and Jason.
