Anderson man in stable condition after head-on collision

Anderson resident Michael Young, 50, was upgraded to stable condition after suffering major injuries in a traffic collision at 6:10 a.m. March 24 on Old Oregon Trail in Redding. The accident occurred when a mini van heading southbound driven by Lawrence Crum Jr., 43, of Redding, crossed the center line and struck Young's vehicle head-on.

Crum reported to police that he fell asleep while driving. Crum was released from the hospital shortly after admittance.

Young was upgraded to stable condition on Friday at Mercy Medical Center.
