The West Valley baseball team had a win-win situation last week, beating both Yreka (13-3) and Corning (11-8).
The Eagles first traveled to Yreka on Tuesday, for a league game against the Miners.
West Valley dominated the game with 15 hits and held Yreka to only four.
Top Eagle hitters included Justin Clark with three hits and five RBIs. Joseph Clark and Justin Naber each had two hits and two RBIs. Blake Adkins had two hits with 3 RBIs, and Jael Uhl had three hits.
The Eagles continued their success on Thursday, against a tough Corning team.
The win elevated West Valley into a 14-13 overall record, and put a dent in the Cardinals winning record of 13-8.
The Eagles had seven hits, staying on top even though Corning had eight hits.
West Valley's Tony D'chevy had 2 hits. Gary Vanderberg had one hit that packed a lot of punch. His double brought in three runners.
The Eagles are currently tied with Corning, with a 6-4 league record. They trail behind Central Valley, a team that holds an undefeated 9-0 league record.
