JEFF KISER

JEFF KISER

Jeff Kiser was announced as the City of Anderson's next Public Works Director by City Manager Scott Morgan on Friday. Currently a Project Manager at Omni Means, Ltd. in Redding, Kiser is scheduled to begin work as director on Monday May 18, 2009. Kiser's employment follows the retirement of former director Rich Barchus.

After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communications from California State University, Sacramento, Kiser began working for the California Department of Transportation, according to Morgan in a city memorandum.

Kiser eventually worked his way to becoming Caltrans Maintenance Manager, a position that involved "managing a multi-million dollar highway maintenance budget and supervising more than three hundred Caltrans employees," according to Morgan.

"After more than fifteen years with Caltrans, in 2006, Jeff accepted a position with Omni Means, Ltd., where his focus areas have been public works construction management and inspection, grant writing, project study report preparation, and traffic management plans," Morgan said.

Having had the opportunity to work with Jeff as the Omni Means contract project manager on several very successfully-administered City of Anderson public works projects over the past couple of years, City Public Works and City Management Office staff have come to respect and appreciate Jeff's very impressive skills in public works problem solving, as well as his magnificent interpersonal relations and communications skills," Morgan said. "We have witnessed first hand his tremendous personal productivity and outstanding work ethic. As such, it is a real pleasure to name him as our next Public Works Director."
