With its 140 employees, Redding Rancheria is one of Shasta County's largest employers. And now it can boast of being one of the north state's best as well.
During a recent awards breakfast sponsored by the Smart Business Resource Center of Redding, the Rancheria was named as one of four Best Companies to Work For in 2009.
The other winners included: non-profit New Directions to Hope; mid-size company Datawise, Inc., and small company RUSH Personnel Services, Inc., all of Redding.
Redding Rancheria maintains its tribal headquarters at 2000 Redding Rancheria Road off Highway 273, just south of Redding. It also operates Win-River Casino, Redding Rancheria's Indian Health Clinic, a Head Start and child care facility, a mini-mart and the Hilton Garden Hotel.
This year, more than three times the number of companies than in years past were nominated, a message to Shasta County's business community that their efforts to create positive work environments are sincerely appreciated. The names of all companies nominated can be found at www.bestinshasta.com.

Well whom ever says that knows not what they are talking about, just ask the 200+ ex casino employees that was fired Jan. 2008 to now May 2009.
