Through Sunday, May 17, Win-River Casino is celebrating its 16th anniversary with special promotions, prize giveaways, special events and a Chicago tribute band in concert.
More than $40,000 in prizes will be given away during the casino's anniversary week, announced casino publicist Maria Orozco.
From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day through Friday, May 15, free cupcakes and balloon art will be given away at the promotions stage.
On Thursday, May 14, a special prize wheel will arrive at the point of play for random River Club Members, who will then spin the prize wheel to determine their winnings. If the "Bank Buster" prize slot hits, then everybody on that player's side of the slot bank that is using a player's card will receive a payout, Orozco said.
In addition, 16 other gifts will be given away at the promotions stage on Friday, May 15, between noon and 8 p.m.
The Sweet 16 anniversary party kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in the Events Center, with dinner served to the first 450 guests at 7:30 p.m. Another 200 seats are reserved for VIPs. General seating is $35 per person, and one bottle of champagne will be provided for each couple. All guests must be 21 or older.
The Chicago Tribute Authority band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight, Orozco said.
Since the casino started in 1993 with Bingo play only, a special Bingo Special Anniversary tournament will be held Sunday, May 17.
Sales start at 9 a.m. and the session starts at noon. During the tournament, games will pay $1,199 and another $1,600 in prizes, Orozco said.
