Concerned about a planned transmission line project's path near her home, Cottonwood resident Donna Caldwell arranged a public meeting to take place May 14, 6:30 p.m., North Cottonwood School, 19920 Gas Point Road, in the multi-purpose room.
Routes for overhead power transmission lines for a potential statewide renewable energy project could pass east of Anderson and just north or east of Cottonwood, according to a proposal from Transmission Agency of Northern California (TANC) and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).
"My personal home, property lies within the boundaries of the proposed TANC transmission lines and would be targeted for the eminent domain status," Donna Caldwell said. "Because knowledge is power. . . I have orchestrated a public meeting. The meeting is formatted for all of us to learn information."
According to Caldwell, the meeting would be attended by Supervisor for District 5 Les Baugh as well as civil engineers Duane Miller and Steve Kerns.
