May 25 - 11 a.m., Avenue of Flags, Anderson District Cemetery, 2500 Cemetery Lane, Anderson.
May 25 - noon, Redding Memorial Park, 1201 Continental Park, Redding. Keynote speaker, Lt.-Col. Carl Bott, U.S. Marine Corps (retired)
May 25 - 5:55 p.m., Northern California Veterans Cemetery, 11800 Gas Point Road, Igo. Keynote speaker, Brigadier General Mary Kight, Assistant Adjutant General for the California National Guard; special guest speaker, California Assemblyman Jim Neilsen. A two-aircraft flyover of T-38A Talons from the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron, 9th Reconnaissance Wing, Beale Air Force Base is scheduled to start the program.
May 30 - 11 a.m., traditional Shasta County Veterans Memorial Day Service and annual luncheon, Veterans Memorial Grove, Redding Convention Center, 700 Auditorium Drive. Keynote speaker: Col. Wally Wessel, U.S. Marine Corps (retired). The program will include a special tribute to the men and women who helped form the Veterans Memorial Grove as well as recognition of the community members and groups that recently donated time and resources to enhance the grove's appearance and accessibility.
May 30 - 3 p.m., dedication of a memorial honoring the late Medal of Honor recipient Col. James Elms Swett, who died Jan. 18. Redding Municipal Airport. Keynote speaker is Capt. Dick Tews, U.S. Air Force (retired); special guest speakers Maj. James Taylor, U.S. Army (retired) and also a Medal of Honor recipient; and Cmdr. Willis E. Hardy, U.S. Navy (retired), and president of the American Fighter Aces Association.
