Anthem finalists chosen for Anderson Explodes!

After hearing 22 versions of the national anthem, a panel of five judges has narrowed the field to five finalists, contest organizer Carole Bartels said. Among those who will compete May 29 for the honor of singing the national anthem during the Anderson Explodes! fireworks show on July 3 will be Courtney Blanc, 9, of Redding; Coral Martinez, 17, of Red Bluff; Mike Vasquez of Redding; Anne Vietti of Anderson; and a duet by Tasha Hepburn and her daughter Shelby, 12, of Redding.
