The Transmission Agency of Northern California (TANC) board voted 4-1 Wednesday to extend the comment period on a proposed transmission line by 60 days, to July 30.
Paul Hauser, Redding Electric Utility director, also sits on the TANC board and voted for the extension after listening to some 35 speakers at the meeting.
The TANC board also agreed to accept comments after the scoping period for environmental review formally closes, Hauser said.
The proposed 600-mile line would run through Shasta and Tehama counties and has drawn fierce opposition in Round Mountain, Cottonwood and other communities in its path.
