Shasta County Sportsmen's Association is hosting its 17 annual Junior Pheasant Hunt at the Bend River Recreation Area Nov. 21-22.
Morning and afternoon hunts will be held each day. Applications were initially made through the California Department of Fish & Game. However, not all of the available spots were filled. Shasta County Sportsmen's Association will accept anyone with a valid California Junior Hunting License to fill the available openings. Young hunters must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a "sweat line" before each hunt to replace any no-shows. A reservation is recommended.
A Woman's Only pheasant hunt will take place Dec. 5. There is still adequate time to apply for this hunt thru the DFG.
