West Cottonwood Junior High celebrated Red Ribbon Week and encouraged their students to stay away from drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

West Cottonwood kicked off the week of Oct. 26 with students signing a pledge to stay away from drugs, tabacco, and alcohol. Red Ribion week is designed to teach students about the dangers of drug, tabacco, and alcohol use. There was a door-decorating contest.

This year's winning door had the message "Id rather eat slugs, than do drugs".

Students dressed up to show their spirit with crazy socks for "sock it to drugs day" and crazy hair for "Crazy about being drug free day".

The week concluded with an assembly put on by Debbie Allen to teach students about Acute Alcohol poisoning.

Students learned about Shelby's rule - Alcohol + Vomiting = 911 and that alcohol can be deadly.
