The Shasta College Community Band announces their next performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20 and 21, in the Shasta College Theatre.
The Community Band is a large symphonic band consisting of approximately 110 members.
This is a true community band representing Shasta, Trinity and Tehama counties, the area served by Shasta College.
Members represent a variety of occupations and come from a wide range of ages.
Concerts are created for the entire family and can be enjoyed by all ages. These performances mark the 31st anniversary of the band.
These two evenings of back-to-back concerts will include movie sound tracks, Broadway musicals, marches, musical surprises and a wide variety of music.
A light effervescent and exciting musical atmosphere permeates this ensemble's concerts.
Tickets are $3 for general admission with 80 percent of the ticket sale profits directed to the purchase of music by the college band.
For additional information, contact either the Shasta College Arts, Communications and Social Sciences division at (530) 242-7730 or the ensemble's conductor, Dr. Larry Grandy, at (530) 242-2362.
