Rancheria announces new grant guidelines

The Redding Rancheria Community Fund released new grant guidelines and a new deadline. Under these new guidelines, grants up to $30,000 will be awarded to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and public entities in Shasta and Trinity Counties in the areas of arts/culture, education, environment, health and social services.

All grant proposals must be received at the Community Foundation 1335B Arboretum Drive, Redding, or postmarked by 5 p.m., February 24, 2010.

The Community Fund has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants since inception, encourages proposals to serve Native Americans, seniors/elders, youth and/or rural populations. The Community Fund also encourages proposals from programs that can demonstrate a high level of community involvement and/or volunteerism.

The Fund awards support for capital improvements/renovations, equipment, programs at existing organizations, organizational development, community events and studies/research projects.
