Cubs upset Warriors on the road

Anderson High School beat Winters on the road in the first round of the Northern Section Division II play-offs Friday night.

The Warriors, seeded fourth, hosted the fifth seed Cubs, who went on to upset Winters, 36-9.

Anderson's Drew Diprima ran for 112 yards and had three touchdowns, while teammate Jake Bell scored a fourth touchdown.

The Cubs will travel on Friday to Susanville to play No. 1 Lassen.

Junior Eagles win State Championship

The West Valley Junior Eagle Midgets clenched the North State Championship Saturday, November 14, 2009.

The undefeated Eagles Midgets beat the River Valley Falcons in a stunning 16-14 victory.

With less than 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the Falcons were on a game winning drive in the red zone,however, the Falcon's quarterback threw a long pass which was intercepted by Eagle Austin Clark to capture the Championship.
