Citing vacating industry in the Ox Yoke Drive area of Anderson as well as the arrival of her now three-month-old son Carson, business owner Sheila Worrall closed the Lunch Box Deli on Nov. 6.
"We have tried to hold on during this rough economic ride, but we can no longer wait for the economy to rebound," Worrall said in a letter announcing the business' closure.
Located in a strip mall off Industrial Way for over four years, Lunch Box Deli catered mostly to locals and laborers at industries in the Ox Yoke Drive area, Worrall said.
The store fronts on either side of the Lunch Box Deli had been vacant for some time, Worrall said, with Suspenders moving out six months ago and Aqua Salon moving out two years ago.
"Anderson is a depressed area," Worrall said, adding that the Lunch Box Deli has been up for sale for six months.
