Senior Levi Cox began playing football eleven years ago, when the West Valley Jr. Eagles were still the West Valley 49ers with coach Steve Kenyon.
Cox has been playing quarter back for the past ten years. At a young age, his mom wanted him to play football and other sports. He is now a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball for West Valley.
"Football is an addicting sport for me. I have made a lot of great friends over the years, including Derek Serna and Zack Miller," said Cox. "In football, there is a lot of hard work, spending time with friends and going to summer camps. With all the hard work, you definitely have to have your friends."
Cox would like to attend Sacramento State University, Eastern Washington State or Humboldt State University. He is planning to play college ball and would like to major in physical therapy, business or education. His favorite subject is U.S. History.
For Cox, his family is his biggest inspiration. His parents and brother Cory are at every game, His step father is his weight training coach, and has put him through many of the top training camps. Cox's older brother Cory has been with him through every season, pumped him up before tough games, and put him back on his feet after a tough loss.
Cox and his teammates have enjoyed being able to talk with and work with the West Valley Junior Eagles teams helping them to learn skills and mentally pumping them up to play football. Cox remembers looking up to the West Valley football players at that same age thinking, "Someday I am going to play West Valley Football just like them."
Cox is the son of Andrea Harris and Rob Cox. He is also the stepson of Karin Cox and Richard Harris. He has three brothers, Cory 20, Steven 19 and Connor 17.
Cox was born in June of 1991 at Mercy Medical Center and will graduate from West Valley High School in June of 2010.
