Cystic Fibroses walk
The Great Strides Walk to benefit the Cystic Fibroses Foundation will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at 9:00 am at the Shasta College track.
There is not a fee to participate in the walk. Raffle prizes will also be given out. For more information, contact Megan Kelly at 515-5268.
WVHS fundraiser
The West Valley FFA will be hosting their Fall Fundraiser on Oct. 10 at the Bry Walther Memorial Farm at West Valley High School.
Farm and shop tours will be given between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, followed by a steak dinner at 6:00 pm and a silent auction.

My Fair Lady Tickets
Tickets for the Anderson and West Valley high school's production of My Fair Lady are set to go on sale Monday, Oct. 19. General admission is $10 or $8 for seniors (60 and older) as well as students with a valid school ID.
Tickets may be purchased at Bernie's Guitar, 3086 Bechelli Lane in Redding; NCG 1-Stop Music Shop, 2303-A Balls Ferry Road, Anderson; Anderson Union High School District Office, 1469 Ferry St. during school hours, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.; and AUHS Performing Arts Center, 1471 Ferry St. Monday - Thursday 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Basketball sign-ups
The City of Anderson Parks & Recreation Department is taking registration for the Youth Basketball Program until Nov. 20, for those in 2nd-5th grades. Registration will continue until Dec. 11 for those in 6th-8th grades (after try-outs). This is a recreational program where youth will learn basic skills, teamwork and most important, have fun. Help sponsor youth boys basketball
The City of Anderson's Park and Recreation Department is seeking sponsorships for its Youth Basketball Program. This is our 9th year offering a basketball league for the youth in Anderson and the surrounding south county communities. The program continues to grow each year
Along with registration fees your sponsorship will help cover the cost of t-shirts, equipment, referees and scholarships for two youth. The referees are also youth, with the majority being from local high schools. For many this is their first job, an opportunity for work experience and a chance to learn.
A $150 sponsorship fee will not only help keep this program affordable to the youth, but shows the community that your business/organization support the youth. Your business/organization's name will be placed on the back of a team t-shirt. Please let us know by Dec. 4th in order to have t-shirts ready for league games starting in Jan.
