Help Shasta Women's Refuge "Weather the Storm" with a community cash drive fundraiser.
Recent elimination of funding for the Department of Public Health's Domestic Violence Program, which provided $20.4 million for 94 domestic violence shelters and centers in California, resulted in a $207,200 loss to the local refuge's domestic violence services, said Kristi Hanson, fund development manager for the Shasta Women's Refuge.
Join meteorologist Chita Johnson of KRCR TV and Billy Pilgrim and Patrick John, radio hosts of the Billy & Patrick Show on Q 97, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, in a drive-through live remote at the Mt. Shasta Mall.
Enter at Sears and exit at Outback Steakhouse.
Chita Johnson will present a gift to the first 100 donors.
"Your tax deductible donations will make a difference in the lives of our community's most vulnerable citizens," Hanson said.
